Dear Leader #0018

Dear Leader,

You’re going to be wrong a lot. Better make the benefit of the doubt your default.

When all you have are assumptions or bits and pieces of information, steer clear of certainty and lean into curiosity. Ask lots of questions, do a whole lot of listening, and make the best possible assumptions of the situation or person you can until proven otherwise.

Better to be overly gracious with your assumptions and work your way into the truth, than to be overly eager with accusations and try to back your way into grace. It usually doesn't work anyway and it quickly tanks your trust.
